Back to School Can Mean Back to Germs

With so many touchpoints, the classroom can be a breeding ground for germs. Public awareness of the need for effective prevention against biological hazards like mold, bacteria and allergens is at an all-time high. Numerous scientific studies have even linked toxic mold to neurological conditions like autism. School administrators are challenged more than ever to insure their students remain healthy enough to attend school and engage in learning.

It is nontoxic, green, contains no VOC’s and kills 99.99% of mold, mildew, bacteria, and viruses on contact. Tips to reduce students’ exposure to germs

Handwashing Policies

Schools and daycare centers should have handwashing in place policies for staff. Establish a handwashing policy and monitor actual handwashing practices and the availability of sinks, suggested Neil Schachter, MD, medical director of respiratory care at Mount Sinai in New York City, and the author of The Good Doctor’s Guide to Colds and Flu.

Clean Surfaces Regularly

Wipe down common surfaces with registered disinfectants. Make sure surfaces are being cleaned properly and regularly. Research has shown that nearly 50 percent of teachers surveyed report they regularly clean and disinfect their classrooms themselves.
